Hello My name is Graham and I'm hoping to show you some of the finest motorcycling roads in England.
Places where motorcyclist meet either for a chat or a pie and a pint, or a coffee and burger.
Enjoy the roads, the views and if you're into a bit of walking, that too. You'll meet other bikers and other road users, from the slow to the dead slow, from sheep to cattle and ramblers to trucks and tractors. |
 |
 |
Watch out for the bad road surfaces plus manure on the road ugh!!! Not conducive to keeping you or your bike in good shape.
You'll come across horse riders as well. So go slow, remember horses have a nasty habit of moving quickly and they mould into the background very easily.
Remember these roads are great for riding sensibly on, they are not for racing.
So keep your speed down. |
Been there, seen it, done it!!!
So why don't you come with me for a few miles on some of my favourite runs. You will enjoy it too. All you will see is the road ahead. So the way ahead is your view of the ROAD and whatever happens on screen really happens.
So sit back, enjoy, let your imagination run riot, put your helmet on, your jacket and gloves and ride the road, feel the drops and turns, feel your body leaning into the corners, see the country side you normally don't have time to see.
You may even want to ride these roads. So why don't you?
The video will help you plan your next ride

Rivington: The barn, bikers, great roads, lots of twisty narrow lanes, loads of fun with a big F!! Lots of bikes every weekend. Large house with restaurant-come-coffee shop and meeting place for bikers. Later turn right towards Belmont then follow signs to Anglezarke, a place of great beauty. Lots of narrow twisty roads, lined with stone walls or steep drops, sharp bends and wire fencing, working Farms, nature reserves. Later follow the road, top the hill to some pleasant twisty roads, too fast and you'll be in for a few surprises. Follow the road and it will bring you back to where you started. Through miles of twisty country roads with long straights and long sweeping curves a real blast but watch out there are cops about. The ride is about 23 miles long but worth every mile with the smiles on your faces |
|
Rossendale: Burnley, Pendle, Ribblesdale. Something for everyone, a great ride out, you'll feel bewitched! We'll take the back roads from Rivington to visit this famous Motorcycle Show. Not quite up to Daytona standards but getting there. The whole town taken over by motorcyclists. Getting there by some of the best narrow twisty roads you'll ever ride on. Then on to Pendle and the notorious Pendle Witches. And if the Witches don't get you, car drivers will. These roads are fast, twisty, dangerous. Sharp bends, blind corners, high walls. Roads that will thrill. |
|
Forest of Bowland: Ribble Valley, superb scenery, loads of fun. You'll either love it or can't get enough of it, you'll want more! Not many people know these roads but follow me and you'll have the thrill of a life time. Some of the roads are narrow with high walls. This is not a route for the novice or the nutter, you can't make a mistake here. These lead to adverse cambers, blind bends on steep hills, narrow bridges with blind entrances and exits with pubs or snack bars close to them or flocks of sheep or birds waiting to get you. Even the carelessly parked car or van with its hidden dangers. Roads that lead you through woods that will give you a false sense of security, a sudden fork in the road or blind you with sun full in the face. Even the casual driver who thinks he's Colin McCrea and of course our favourite 10 mph all over the road Volvo driver.
You'll really enjoy it here the scenery is absolutely stunning and can make you forget to watch ahead. Stop at the Tower and look over Morecambe Bay, see Blackpool or the Cumbrian Hill's in the distance. Become Nuclear, visit Sellafield, or carry on to Devils Bridge |
|
Devils Bridge: Getting there is half the fun. Gateway to some of the best rides you'll ever see. Lots of bikes every weekend! Leave the tower and head for Caton.Watch the road Billy woolly coat is more stupid than you think. Then head for Kirkby Lonsdale. You'll pass through some of the most fascinating little villages in this part of Lancashire but watch your speed, unmarked cars and bikes are everywhere but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying yourself. Just go easy. The roads are really good with just about the right amount of bends and straights with the occasional sharp turn to catch the unwary off guard.
At Devils Bridge, which is off the main road, on the right, pull into the car park. There are bound to be many riders there. Have a cuppa and a hot dog. Walk over the Bridge.
Then if you feel like it, walk into Kirkby town itself, it's well worth a visit. After a pleasant day, you can either head for the motorway or the seaside towns of Morecambe or Blackpool, where you are guaranteed a good time |

Then look out for our next series of films which shouldn't be too long now. But we'll let you know more latter so watch this spot
